"Julie of the Wolves"

Shivering in the cold tundra of Alaska, Miyax looked across a vast lawn of grass and moss.  She focused her eyes on a wolf pack.  In "Julie of the Wolves," I thought the way the author started the story was fantastic.  This story is about a girl named Miyax. She is 13 years old, and is traveling alone in the tundra.  She is traveling alone because of her husband Daniel.  Miyax left Daniel because he was drinking and then had hit her.  I thought "Julie of the Wolves," was a good book, but it could have been a lot better.

Some events that I liked is that Miyax got enough courage to leave her husband Daniel.  I also liked that Amaroq accepted Miyax in his wolf pack.   I also liked that Miyax named the wolves in the wolf pack really neat names.  It was very neat to see Miyax relate to the feelings of the wolves in the wolf pack.  I also liked how Miyax never gave up on trying to be accepted in the wolf pack.

I did not like Jello because he was always in trouble with everything.  He also stole Miyaxís food and Jello also did not like Miyax.  I thought Jello was very annoying and irritable.  But, even though I donít like Jello, I wish he had not died.  I also did not like it when the hunter came and well, you should read the book to find out what he did.

I think this is a good learning experience book.  It has a lot of meaning to it and is very emotional too.  I recommend this book to anyone who had the heart and love for animals.  I would also recommend it to people who like thrilling adventures.  So, I hope you have fun reading, "Julie of the Wolves."

In this book I learned many things.  One thing that I learned was to respect nature.  Another thing I learned is to care for others and its surroundings.  Also, listen to your heart.  And, the very last thing I learned is to give things a try, and to also not let things slip by when you are down in the dumps.
