Julie of the Wolves is about a girl named Miyax
that wants to go to San Francisco to see her pen pal Amy. Miyax was married
to Daniel. She doesn't like him so she runs away and meets a wolf pack
in the tundra. I thought this was a good book. It kept me reading and kept
me focused. This book had a lot of details and I thought that was interesting.
One of my favorite parts was when she became part of the pack, because I think that would be neat to join the pack. Now that she was part of the pack Amaroq stuck up for her. Amaroq and the pack also shared the food with her. Another part I like is when she saw her father because all this time she thought he was dead or never going see him again. I thought that was neat because when she saw her dad she acted a little suprised by that. He changed from being Eskimo to using electricity. While she was gone he also married some gussak lady.
A couple of things I didn't like in the story was when Amaroq died. I thought that was sad because he was the leader and he was such a caregiver. Another thing I didn't like was the ending in the book. I thought it was kind of weird that people came and knew her father.
I think I would recommend this book to people who like wolves and outdoors. I would recommend it to those people because the book is mainly about Miyax lost in the tundra and the only way of serving is the wolf pack.
The lessons I have learned are just because wolves are wild animals they can be nice. Wolves can be very caring. They're not always mean. I think that this is a good book and I might read it again.
