The Child of the Wolves is a story about a dog named Granite. Granite is a Siberian husky that lives with a white wolf named Snowdrift. Throughout the story Snowdrift protects Granite from the other wolves in the wolf pack. What I think about this book is that I liked it becauseit had to do with wildlife.

There are many major events in the story I liked. First, I liked when Granite runs away from Tim and Kate because they where going to sell him to a stranger. When Granite ran away he was spotted by a wolf pack. I felt happy for Granite that he wasnít lonely anymore. Another exciting event was when Roamer fought with Granite and Granite won the fight and won higher ranking. After that happened I felt good for Granite because he stood up for himself and fought Roamer. I also liked the part after the avalanche happened and Granite found Snowdrift buried under snow and dug herout, and when he saved her from the cliff. I think this event made the book sound exciting and really active to me.

The things in the story I disliked was when Granite got lost in the woods and that he never got to see his brothers or sisters and his mother again. Even though these events made the story more interesting, it made me feel bad for Granite.

I would recommend this book to be read by people my age because I thought this book was interesting and exciting. My peers would enjoy this bookís action and adventures not to mention it's cool.

The important lesson that this book taught me is to stand up and fight for your self. I will try to do this in my life as I grow up and run into different problems. Hopefully I will be as successful as Granite was.
