Child of the Wolves

The book Child of the Wolves is about a Siberian husky pup named Granite.  Granite runs away and is adopted by a pack of wolves.  Throughout this story Granite struggles to fit in with the pack.  Granite and the pack have many problems and adventures.

Some specific things that I liked are when Granite saved Snowdrift from the avalanche, because it shows that Granite cares and thinks about Snowdrift. When Snowdrift is in danger or needs help with something, he was there.

Some specific things I dislike about this story were when a stranger took Granite.  How would you like someone taking you from your family?  I would be sad, and mad, and even scared.  I would miss my family a lot, so I would probably run away like Granite did.

I recommend this book to anyone, because it is a very good story and a sad story at the same time, and it is very interesting. It could interact with people if you twisted the story to having people not wolves as characdters.  So if you are interested in this type of book this is a great book for you.

The lesson I learned from this book is that you can always help and care for people if they are endangered or hurt.
