Julie of the Wolves, is
a book about a girl named Miyax. She leaves her husband, Daniel. He is
abusing her. She starts living with a pack of wolves in the tundra. She
also learns to talk to them. I think this book really wasn't the best book
I have ever read. It really didn't get to the point of the story. It was
boring. This book didn't have much going on.
I liked how the setting was in the tundra. All of the books that I have read the setting was in the forest, desert or in the city, or country. I also liked how they made Miyax or Julie have a pen pal. Then had her go into the tundra and find her way to the boat that she had to take to get to San Francisco.
I didn't like how the author made Jello die. He was a nice wolf to Miyax. Amaroq was not as nice to Jello but he would sometimes get food for Jello but have him eat last. The author should have had Amaroq the only one to die. Jean should of had Miyax find her father but not have her live with him because he was the one that killed Amaroq.
I would recommend this book to someone that is interested nature, wolves, and surviving in the wilderness. This also would be a good book for someone that cares for the outdoors and for someone that loves this planet.
A good lesson I have learned from this book is you should always respect nature because, you never know when you have to depend on it. Reading this story really gave me a new feeling for nature. Also, I will never leave any thing in the woods that will hurt it.
