The book Call of the Wild is a great book.  The story is about a dog named Buck.  A guy who needs to pay of a big gambling debt kidnaps Buck.  The man then sells Buck to a cruel owner who beats and starves him.  Buck has to live by he law of the wild "Kill or be killed."  This book has a great story line and theme.  I really enjoyed this book.

Call of the Wild is a real good adventure book.  The author has real good descriptions on events.  I like how the author shows that the owners of Buck canít speak clear English.  The fights are well described and the fights could happen that way in real life.  I like the love that Buck has for his master.

The parts I didnít like in this book were when the dogs would kill the other dogs.  I also didnít like how the masters of the dogs would beat and starve them to death.  I donít think this book would make a good movie because the dogs canít talk and it would be a real short movie.  I didnít like how when Buck would get a new master they would not say how he got the master.  Other than those dislikes I liked the book a lot.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure books.  You would like the adventure and action.  I would recommend this book to anyone who does not like blood and violence.  There is a lot of fighting scenes in this book with real descriptive comments.  If you read this book I think you will enjoy it.

I learned that it was harsh living on the Klondike Goldrush.  Many dogs and horses where killed daily by people heading for gold.  Just because you are smaller or weaker doesnít mean that you canít take down something bigger and stronger.  If you donít take care of yourself you will not survive in the wilderness.  The Alaska wilderness is a harsh dangerous place to live.
