The Call of the Wild is a book about a dog named Buck. I really liked the book because it makes it seem like dogs are as smart as humans. I think the moral of this story is to not let greed take you over and make you do stupid things. This book is about 172 pages long, (Small paperback) so itís not that big. This book is more of an adventure story, plus it is fiction.

My favorite thing about this book is how Buck and Spitz always fight. Spitz is the leader of their dogsled team. Later, Buck hates Spitz so much he tryís to fight him whenever he is hurting other dogs. (Heís also sticking up for them) Eventually Buck kills Spitz. For that, Buck is made leader.

I didnít like how he gets taken away from the judge so suddenly. I wish they could of described the kidnapping or had him with the judge more. I also didnít like how Buck didnít have any friends. He should have had at least one friend that helped him with food or something. Even though I didnít like some things, it is still a good book.

I would recommend this book to anyone. People who love dogs might not like this book as much because of the way the dogs are treated. The Call of the Wild does keep you turning pages because you donít know what will happen next. You will just want to keep on reading. I think anyone would like this book.

I learned how hard times can be. I also learned to treat animals with more respect. I sometimes think I have a hard life, but it is easy compared to a lot in this book. I also think dogs should never be treated like some are in The Call of the Wild. I hope others think the same, too.
