What were the railroads used
for in Altoona? The railroads in Altoona were used for many thing.
One of those things was transportation. People used the railroads
so they could bring business
to and from Altoona. It also carried supplies. Even though
it didn't carry as many supplies back then, the railroads still carried
the same type of supplies that you see the trains carrying today.
The railroads carried sulfur and coal mainly, but they also carried luggage
and farm supplies.
