In 1881 the construction of a roundhouse was started on the east end of Eau Claire. Later, it was completed in December of 1881. It consisted of twenty stalls. In 1882 it was given a new name, they called it the Altoona Roundhouse. In 1910 they expanded the roundhouse, they added five stalls and remodeled the other twenty they had.
