Trolleys in the Chippewa Valley
By: T.K.

Trolleys were an important part of the development of Altoona and the rest of the Chippewa Valley. In 1878, streetcar tracks were laid in Eau Claire, greatly increasing the ease of travel around the area. The first trolleys were pulled by a team of horses or mules, and ran from 6:00 A.M. to 10:30 P.M. each day.

This is a sculpture of a horse-drawn trolley car.
