The
overall layout of Barstow hasn't changed much over the years.
Some
of the same buildings exist, but you might not recognize them. The streets
of Barstow were dirt in the early 1900's, but now they are finely paved.
Another big change is traffic lights. You didn't see them then, but now
they are everywhere you look.
The businesses there have gone from a downtown shopping center to a line of historic shops and stores. In the old Barnes building are offices, a flower shop, and an antique shop. As I said earlier, some of the same buildings still exist there. Some of them are over 100 years old. That is Barstow Street then and now.
