| Women's work clothing in the 1900s were usually made of cotton and their dress clothing commonly made of linen with satin and bows. It would not be unusual to see a woman wear a hat (like the ones in the picture above) because a lot of women wore them during the early 1900s. | Men's clothing in the early 1900s were usually made from wool. The reason for this is that wool is easier to clean and more durable than other materials. A man's suit back then was about $8.00 (more than 1 full weeks pay!!!!!) |
