Women's work clothing in the 1900s were usually made of cotton and their dress clothing  commonly made of linen with  satin and bows.  It would not be  unusual to see a woman wear a hat (like the ones in the picture above) because a lot of women wore them during the early 1900s.  Men's clothing in the early
1900s were usually made from
wool.  The reason for this is that
wool is easier to clean and more
durable than other materials.  A
man's suit back then was about
$8.00 (more than 1 full weeks
pay!!!!!)
