This is a picture of the Herrling sawmill in Greenbush, Wisconsin.Ý It has been there since 1910.Ý There are about 5,700 sawmills still working in the United States, there once was up to 15,000.  I am going to take you through a saw mill like the ones in the 1850s to 1940.  I am also going to tell you about when Eau Claire was covered in sawdust.
