Johnstown, Pennsylvania is a steel mill town at the foot of the Connemaugh River. Above the city, an earthen dam held back the waters of the South Fork Reservoir, until that fateful day in 1889, when it burst after heavy rains. More than 2,000 people were killed from the water and the fires which started in the  debris.  Examine the artifacts below to learn more about this example of Nature's Fury.
